The Red Caps will host South East Cricket Association side Bentleigh Uniting, the same team they beat to win the crown at the MCG in 2012.
"We might have possibility a bit of a mental edge on them as well, having played them previously. And being victorious, they might be thinking 'these guys are going to be quite strong'," Smith said.
"That hopefully will hold us in good stead and might just put some doubt in their mind. We will try to make sure we take advantage of any doubt they may have coming into the game."

Smith said Wendouree would field an unchanged line-up to the one that won the semi-final against Pines earlier in the month.
Wendouree president Ivan Pyke said to simply reach the final was a big achievement for the club.
"Irrespective of the result, to get through to the final puts you as one of the two best clubs in the state, albeit that we are the country winners," Pyke said.
"What we hope is that plenty of people turn up and support and the Ballarat community at large come and see some very good cricket."
Wendouree is two-time state Twenty20 champions, having first won the title in 2010.
Sunday's final will be played at the Eastern Oval from 1pm.
