“The seriousness of the offending over a space of two years can be described as a period of recklessness,” Magistrate Robinson said.
He was seen driving an unregistered vehicle near Maryborough, when police attempted to pull him over in September last year.
Instead Tiburcy sped past a sedan in front of him, hit a median strip and lost control of his car.
After he spun out police approached his vehicle and Tiburcy again drove away.
Police called off the pursuit but identified him as the owner of the unregistered vehicle.
Tiburcy was arrested on May 21 when a car he was in was pulled over and searched in Delacombe.
He was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon after police found a knuckle duster in his bag.
Police then executed warrants for his arrest that were issued following the September incident last year.
The two incidents followed a driving offences dating back to December, 2015.
He was pulled over while driving on High Street in Melton after police saw him driving while using a mobile phone.
Tiburcy’s defence counsel said the sentence would be appealed.
Magistrate Robinson also awarded appeal bail.
