The 35-year-old, who is now based in Hong Kong, timed his run on the bay stallion to perfection, to win from Gai Waterhouse import Fiorente and the Ballan district-based Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock-owned Jakkalberry at Flemington on Tuesday.
Green Moon surged into the lead at the 200m mark to establish an unbeatable lead in the 3200m race. Prebble eased off over the last 50 metres, to win by a length and a half.
Married to Maree Payne from the famous Ballarat racing Payne clan, Prebble has been in fine form, riding three winners in Hong Kong on Sunday.
