Sandwith will slot into the middle order in the club's two-day clash at Alfredton Turf. He will come in for Brandon Walsh, who was dismissed for a duck a fortnight ago.
Mt Clear captain Darcy Thomson said he would add depth to the club's batting line-up.
"He's pretty solid and can accelerate if we need him to," he said.
Mt Clear will enter the clash as the third-placed seed after relinquishing second spot to the Pointies, following a loss to East Ballarat last weekend.
Thomson said the match would be a chance to make up for its grand final loss to the Pointies two seasons ago.
"We'll never get that back but this would be a good way of getting that back a little bit," he said.
Meanwhile Golden Point will make no changes to its side as it looks to continue its run of form. After winning eight of its last nine matches, club captain Josh White said it would be an evenly matched encounter.
"Mt Clear are always a tough opponent and we'll have to play at our best," he said.
The Pointies will enter the match having won seven of its last eight matches.
Elsewhere Darley head coach Brian Wheelahan said his players will need to control their nerves in order to overcome defending premier East Ballarat in its elimination final clash.
The top-placed Lions went undefeated through the regular season, but will take on a Hawks squad who are no strangers to the big stage.
Wheelahan said a good start would be vital to success.
"I think the first session up until tea will tell the tale of which side settles," he said.
"Both teams will have nervous energy, so the first session will be critical to getting off to a positive start."
The Lions will enter the match unchanged.
