The Country Fire Authority has announced that the Fire Danger Period will end in the City of Ballarat, Golden Plains Shire, Hepburn Shire and Moorabool Shire on April 6.
Restrictions have been in force in these areas since December and it comes as the Fire Danger Period is beginning to be lifted across the state.
The Fire Danger Period was announced in November in Pyrenees, with the CFA website stating that it will end in May.
The CFA declares the Fire Danger Period for each municipality at different times in the lead-up to the fire season, depending on rainfall, grassland curing rate and other local conditions.
It may be declared as early as October in some municipalities and remains in place until the danger lessens - this can sometimes be as late as May.
During the Fire Danger Period fires are not allowed to be lit in the open air unless a permit has been issued or certain requirements are complied with.
If you don't obtain a permit, you could be breaking the law and may be prosecuted.
