About eight schools and community groups from the surrounding area were invited to decorate giant Easter eggs which are on display around the shopping precinct until April 18.
"We wanted to support local community groups, by providing them an opportunity for exposure and to promote their group. The past year has been challenging for our community, and we want to do whatever we can to support community groups," said Coltman Plaza marketing manager Katerina Tsamourtzis.
"The Easter eggs provided a way for the groups to be creative and have some fun. The results are amazing and provide a beautiful display for everyone to come and it these school holidays."
Community groups and schools including Lucas Primary School, Siena Catholic Primary School, Ballarat Swans Football & Netball Club, Lucas Community Garden, Alfredton Arts Group, Alfredton Rotary, Alfredton Primary School and St Thomas More Catholic Primary School got their creative hats on, and collaboratively decorated the large eggs.
Lucas Community Garden's Katherine Scott helped decorate her group's giant egg and said it was a great way to let more people know about the garden.

"We've got four or five members of our committee then volunteers who come and go and say hello," she said.
"I wasn't quite sure what to think when we were invited to be part of this but then I thought it's a really great chance to remind people who go there (Coltman Plaza) to shop that the community garden is out there and they can get involved. It's a fun way to inject some garden love in to the centre."
