That is seven spots down from its position at 17^th in 2023, according to Skytrax's annual airline customer experience survey.

But Jetstar fared better among low-budget airlines, coming in second for long-haul, low-cost airlines, only falling behind Singapore Airlines' Scoot.

"We have been listening to our customers and our people and have been acting on this feedback with significant investment already underway," a Qantas spokesperson told ACM.

"We want our customers to feel the difference from the changes that we have put in place and in recent months we have seen customer satisfaction levels improve."

Despite the low overall ranking, the national carrier was acknowledged in a number of categories, including Best Inflight Entertainment (10^th), Cleanest Airline (13^th), Best Cabin Crew (16^th) and Best Airport Services (18^th).

Qatar Airways was named best airline overall for 2024 as well as Best in Business Class.

Runner-up and last year's winner Singapore Airlines took home Best in First Class and Best Cabin Crew.

Cathay Pacific was the cleanest airline while passengers were most impressed with Emirates' inflight entertainment.

Qantas wasn't the only Australian brand to rank poorly this year.

Virgin Australia came in at 54^th, down from 46^th last year, while Jetstar dropped six places from 69^th to 75^th.

But Jetstar ranked highly among low-budget airlines coming in second for long-haul, low-cost airlines.

Rex was the only Australian airline to rise through the rankings landing at 50th after placing 56th in 2023.

Australian airlines ranked highly for regional carriers including Rex at 4^th, Virgin Australia at 6^th and QantasLink at 19^th.
